Ice and water shielding
Imagine a ribbon of rubber 3 feet wide and 9 miles long, stretching from the southern edge of New Berlin to the northern edge of Brookfield. That is how much ice and water shield we used last year to give our residential roofing customers the protection they deserve!
Ice and water shield has the ability to seal around the nails that penetrate through it, so water can't follow the nail through the decking down into your house. We install ice and water shield above the gutterline, in valleys, around chimneys, on low slope areas, and anywhere that your roof has a history of ice formation. We believe in multiple layers of protection for your home's roof.
Ventilation
We also assess the ventilation of your roof and customize a venting solution based on your home's unique architecture. Studies show that a well-vented roof has benefits in both the warm summer and cold winter, so we use continous ridge vents, power ventilators, more static vents, and other means to help your roof breathe. We feel the combination of more venting and liberal use of ice water shield gives you what you want: a well protected home.
Proper installation
All shingles are nailed in place by skilled installers whether architectural (dimensional) or 3-tab shingles; they are nailed in neat orderly rows, and nailed in the proper locations on the shingle. Not every company can boast of all lead installers having 20 years of experience, but we can. No aggravating nail pops, crooked rows, or skipped nails are part of our installations.
Your home and property is carefully protected during the installation of your new roof. We re-cover the exposed surfaces immediately after tearing off, usually installing your new shingles right away. We rarely cover with tarps and we never leave your home exposed to the elements between work days.
We worry about your lawn and gardens so that you don't have to. Removed materials are deposited directly in to a dumpster or temporarily collected on tarps for quick and clean removal.

Southeastern Wisconsin has a bi-polar climate! In January, 1977 it was 26 degrees below zero and in July 1962 it reached 103 degrees. That is 129 degrees of variation in Milwaukee! As our two lead siding carpenters have 30 years experience each, and have been with Evansen Builders since 1993, we bring valuable expertise to your re-siding installations. Siding and trim work can not be installed by machine; good work is an art that is entirely done by human insight through human hands—planned, executed, cut to size, formed, and properly nailed at your home itself. There is no substitute for experienced skilled hands!
Energy efficient and maintenance-free
Many people don't think of energy costs when it comes to siding. The truth is, we can actually help cut your heating and cooling cost! We have vinyl siding that comes with over an R4 insulation bonded right to the back of the panel. And we generally apply a new covering of styrofoam insulation or Tyvek over the existing walls before we install traditional uninsulated siding. The majority of our installations are with maintenance-free vinyl siding with lifetime warranties against fading. We are familiar with and install the premium products from Reynolds, Owens Corning, Crane, Alside, Alcoa and Rollex. We also work with aluminum and other metals and other types of siding to meet your specific needs.
Large selection of styles
Whether you choose a D4 (double four) or T6 (triple six) or wider profiles we have a large selection of products to choose from. We can certainly give your home the look of cedar or wider fiber cement boards but without the maintenance issues. And considering that we are superb at custom-bending metal, we can cover your soffits and fascia and window casings with new matching aluminum coverings.

No problem…we use materials from all of the major vendors including Reynolds, Rollex, Alside, Alcoa, or Quality/Edge. So we have an extensive pallette of colors—we are sure to find one to suit you. Venting? We add new venting in the soffits, before we cover, to ensure proper airflow into moisture prone areas and bring fresh air into the attic spaces.

Better gutter systems to keep your home dry
Proper drainage
It's easy to forget about gutters until your basement floods after just a little rain. Poorly installed gutters or under-sized systems can can leave your foundation unprotected from even the smallest amounts of rain.
We install both the standard 5 inch and the 6 inch extra large size—both in seamless heavy duty .032 aluminum—in over 60 colors to coordinate your homes exterior! Our 6 inch gutters can handle 65% more water flow and is perfect for larger roof areas. And it looks great too, adding a nice line to your house. It is not commonly offered by others in the area. Of course our standard downspout is the 4inch larger size.
Durable installation
We install our gutters with screws at least every 18 inches, not with nails as most installers use. Screws bite the wood and do not tend to pull out as nails do under the stress of the heavy weight of ice and expansion and contraction due to Wisconsin temperature extremes. Additionally, with hangars placed every 18 inches or closer (not 36 inches or more as commonly done) both the gutter and its pitch is securely held in place for many years. This also provides strong bracing from within. You can lean a ladder against our installations with no fear of bending the gutter in.
Maintenance-free
We also offer a variey of gutter covers and leaf protection systems. If you have nearby trees, especially over higher-level gutters, you'll rest assured you'll never have to clean your gutters again! Our gutter and cover systems will beautify your home and make your life easier and safer as well.

The products we offer have between 30 year and lifetime warranties and most include labor as well as materials. For example, we use only roofing shingles that have labor provisions included in the product warranty from the manufacturer, all in addition to our own labor warranty. The same is true of our vinyl windows. You have a lot of protection when you use Evansen Builders as your contractor. And most of the warranties are transferable in the event the house is sold.
Licensed, bonded, and insured
We carry full insurance on all our workers and installation sites. We have public liability insurance and worker's compensation insurance to protect both your home and our workers. We will provide a certificate of insurance upon your request before starting any work. We are also licensed and bonded. You are entitled to peace of mind while we take care of your home.
